Diplomat in Residence Coffee Hour
January 16 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am
Please join CES in welcoming Stephanie Hutchison as the new Diplomat in Residence for the Mid-Atlantic Region! Stop by GEC 4003 for coffee and conversation!
Diplomats in Residence (DIRs) are career Foreign Service Officers and Specialists located throughout the U.S. who provide guidance and advice on careers, internships, and fellowships to students in the communities they serve.
DIR Stephanie Hutchison has been in the US Foreign Service for 17 years, working in Ghana, Portugal, Morocco, Tanzania, Trinidad & Tobago, and Washington DC. She can be reached via email at DIRMidAtlantic@state.gov. Before she joined the Foreign Service, Hutchison worked in market research and environmental consulting. In both cases, I gravitated towards the international work done at these organizations. Ultimately, it was a 2004 trip to Damascus, Syria for a UN-related environmental consulting project that convinced her to represent my country and join the Foreign Service. DiR Hutchison holds a BA in International Affairs with a minor in Economics from Colby College in Waterville, MA and a Masters in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.
