Jeannette L’enfance de Jeanna D’Arc (Jeannette: The Childhood of Joan of Arc)| Tournées Film Festival

An account of heroine Joan of Arc’s childhood. Jeannette, at the tender age of 8, looks after her sheep in the small village of Domremy. One day, she tells her friend how she cannot bear to see the suffering caused by the English. Jeannette is ready to take up arms for the liberation of France.

This screening is part of the Tournées Film Festival, organized by the UNC Department of Romance Studies in collaboration with the UNC Departments of Art and Art History and Comparative Literature, and the UNC Center for European Studies. The screening is free and open to the public, with English subtitles.

Tournées Film Festival is made possible with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the US, the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’image Animée (CNC), the French American Cultural Fund, Florence Gould Foundation, and Highbrow Entertainment.
