Roundtable on UNC Partnership with the American Academy of Diplomacy and ‘The General and the Ambassador’ Podcast

March 26, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The UNC Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs will host a virtual roundtable on Friday, March 26 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. to discuss a new partnership with the American Academy of Diplomacy and the podcast, The General and the Ambassador. This partnership is part of an initiative to strengthen the study of the practice of diplomacy at UNC-Chapel Hill. Faculty at Carolina are incorporating the podcast content into courses, with an opportunity for faculty and students to also inform the content of future podcasts.

Vice Provost Barbara Stephenson, leading this collaboration for UNC-Chapel Hill, and Ambassador Deborah McCarthy, producer of the podcast, will host a roundtable discussion about ways to engage in this partnership. Stephenson and McCarthy will be joined by Rudi Colloredo-Mansfeld, senior associate dean for social sciences and global programs in the College of Arts & Sciences, and Katie Bowler Young, interim senior director for Global Partnership and Programs, who are working with faculty on curriculum integration and organizing curriculum development grants. Faculty incorporating the podcast series into their courses this semester will also share their experiences.
