Fall 2024 TAM Alumni Panel

The Transatlantic Masters Program will host an alumni panel on Friday, October 25th at 5pm EST in GEC 1005.

This will be an in-person event with a light dinner included afterwards. A zoom option will also be available. Please RSVP below.

Dominic Andrews

TAM 2020- Through TAM, Dominic earned degrees from VU Amsterdam and UNC-CH. He currently works at NOAA where he advises the Director of National Weather Service in their capacity as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations’ World Meteorological Organization. Specifically, he leads policy development and engagement with the Americas and Caribbean and supports capacity building projects that build resilience to extreme weather and a changing climate. Dominic came into government as a Presidential Management Fellow at NOAA Fisheries and completed a detail to the White House Climate Policy Office where he focused on clean energy policy and communications. He received a B.A. in Political Science and Journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Brittany Lenart

TAM 2016- Brittany is a Partner Relationship Manager at Wolters Kluwer. Brittany builds and manages strong relationships with other technology providers in the Financial Services industry. Her focus is to jointly go to market with her portfolio of partners to grow their respective customer bases and drive revenue. Her portfolio of partners includes many large, strategic industry leaders within the auto, banking, and eSignature space.

Brittany graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Spanish in 2013. She completed the TAM program in 2016. She studied at Universidad de Complutense in Madrid, Spain while in TAM.

 

 

Georgia Patrascu

TAM 2016- a PMP-certified Project Manager at the Urban Institute’s Health Policy Center, Georgia specializes in proposal development, contract management, and risk management for federal awards and private foundation grants. With a focus on streamlining complex processes, Georgia plays a key role in ensuring efficient project execution and compliance across diverse funding streams.

Georgia was in the Transatlantic Studies Track of the TAM program and studied at Complutense University in Madrid, Spain, where her thesis explored the Common European Asylum System (CEAS) and the 2015 European refugee crisis. Her research applied theories of intergovernmentalism and securitization to analyze how European Union member states navigated irregular migration and asylum policies.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Georgia recently earned the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, a globally recognized credential awarded after rigorous training and testing. Originally from Romania, she now resides in Arlington, VA, with her partner, and enjoys exploring new places when she can step away from the virtual office.

Andrew Rento

TAM 2023- Andrew studied at UNC-CH for his undergraduate years earning a BA in Contemporary European Studies with a French minor and a Chinese minor. During his years as an undergraduate, he participated in two immersion programs abroad during his junior year to accelerate language learning. He studied in Montpellier, France in the fall of 2019, and then in Taipei, Taiwan for the spring of 2020 until COVID ended the program; he finished the last month and a half of that semester online. After college, Andrew was part of the TransAtlantic Studies Track of the TAM program. He studied in Bath in the spring of 2022 and then in Grenoble for the fall of 2022. After graduating from TAM, Andrew began working at the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants at the Raleigh field office after a successful internship the summer during TAM. At USCRI, Andrew is a case manager on the employment team, helping refugees from all over the world become self-sufficient residents of the Triangle area. Also after graduation, Andrew adopted his dog Misty with whom he spends all his free time when he’s not at trivia nights or playing tennis.

Julia Walker

TAM 2022- Julia is the communications strategist for Planned Parenthood South Atlantic and Planned Parenthood Votes! South Atlantic, the health care and advocacy affiliate organizations of Planned Parenthood operating in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. As the communications strategist, she handles day-to-day media relations and assists in the development of field communications materials for PPVSAT’s electoral work in North Carolina. Prior to this role, she served as a communications professional in local government and at the North Carolina Democratic Party, as well as with several electoral campaigns across North Carolina and Virginia.
