Preventing the Great Fragmentation: Europe’s response to the COVID-19 economic shock

Paolo Gentiloni, European Commissioner for Economy, will discuss “Preventing the Great Fragmentation: Europe’s response to the COVID-19 economic shock” at a virtual event with the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) on June 4, 2020.

Gentiloni began serving as European Commissioner for Economy in December 2019. He was prime minister of Italy from December 2016 to June 2018. He was previously appointed as Italy’s minister of foreign affairs from October 2014 to December 2016 and minister of communication between 2006 and 2008.
