Europe Week | Closing Reception: Celebrating the EU Through Sights, Sounds and Stories
April 12, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Join us for Europe Week’s closing reception featuring musical performances, winning images from the Europe Week Photo Contest, and the winners of the EU Today Essay Contest. Both photo and essay contest winners will present their work to the audience and explain the significance and meaning it has in characterizing the EU and contemporary Europe. The winners will also be awarded gift certificates to Flyleaf Books. Musical performances will be headlined by the Onyx Club Boys, a local Gypsy Jazz band recently featured on NPR! We will also showcase UNC student talent through brass pieces. The reception will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres that showcase the flavors and cultural diversity of various EU member states.
UNC Department of Music performers are as follows:
- Michael Kris, director and alto sackbut
- Katie Rose Hand, tenor sackbut
- Sebastian Nichols, tenor sackbut
- Christian Boletchek, bass sackbut
